I'm a sailor, a techie and a writer. I like dogs, too.
I started my career at Google decades ago (just typing that makes me feel old). After Google, I worked at a variety of different Silicon Valley startups, where I got to participate in an IPO, multiple acquisitions (from both sides of the table), and launch a mobile app that reached the #1 Top Grossing chart on both the iOS and Android platforms. It was a lot of fun and a lot of hard work, too.
I grew up reading a mix of fast-paced thrillers by Tom Clancy, Michael Crichton, Vince Flynn, amongst others, and literary classics like Catch-22, Crime and Punishment and Fahrenheit 451. I still read an oddball mix of everything, from Hugh Howey to Amor Towles, with plenty of history non-fiction in between.
I write at the intersection of Silicon Valley and espionage. Occasionally, I write little capsule sailing short stories too.
My first novel, Sucker Punch, is coming out soon. I think of it as a modern day mash up of Tom Clancy's Hunt for the Red October and HBO's Silicon Valley - albeit less comedic!
Sucker Punch revolves around a rising Silicon Valley tech company, autonomous underwater vechicles (read drone submarines) and a Chinese spy.
